Graphing Systems of Equations Practice Foldable Booklet 4 Versions

$3.00

ACTIVITY:

Students will create a six question practice booklet for Systems of Linear Equations. Given a system of linear equations, students will find the solution to the system by graphing and identifying the intersection. Includes FOUR versions:

  • Version 1: Slope-Intercept Form Only
  • Version 2: Point-Slope Form Only
  • Version 3: Standard Form Only
  • Version 4: All Forms

How I use this resource in my classroom:

I use this resource for guided practice when introducing the systems of equations by graphing. I usually use Version 4 so I can review graphing of different forms. Each student makes/folds a booklet before I start the lesson. They will need the booklet to follow along during my lesson. I have the corresponding guided practice format displayed on my instructional board as I teach. During my lesson, we first discuss our prior knowledge of Linear Equations. I show a guided example on the board with problem #1 and the students take notes in their booklet on Problem #1. Then I give the students an opportunity to try Problem #2 on their own. Problem #2 is similar in difficulty as the example I demonstrated (Problem #1). While the students try Problem #2, I float around the room observing and assisting students. Depending on the overall level of understanding I either continue with this pattern of showing an example and the students trying the next example independently or I allow the students to complete the rest of the examples with collaborative partners/groups.

I have also used this resource for remediation of graphing a specific form and use Versions 1, 2 or 3 depending on the individual student need.

*All 4 versions use the same linear functions and graphs. The differentiation is in the linear form of each system.

Easy to make foldable booklets. NO STAPLER, NO GLUE, NO SCISSORS, NO TAPE needed!

  • Its compact design makes it easier for students to take class work to and from school making the booklets a great alternative to assigning homework from a heavy textbook.
  • Foldable booklets can be incorporated in a variety of ways: Interactive Notebooks, Homework, Warm-Ups, Stations/Centers and many more creative ways!
