Students will simplify up to 54 algebraic expressions using Google™ Sheets to reveal up to 3 unique pixel arts (one per level). With 3 levels of differentiation, teachers have the flexibility to assign just 1 level based on individual student needs or even assign all three levels. This activity is suitable for simple combining like terms practice with up to 4 terms ( x terms and constants). Distributive property will not be used in this novice level for simplifying expressions.
THREE levels provide easy differentiation.
Level 1: x-terms and constants only with positive numbers
Level 2: x-terms and constants only with integers between -10 and 10
Level 3: x-terms and constants only with integers between -50 and 50

Correct answers will be indicated by the text color changing from red to black with a green highlight and students will be rewarded with colored pixels appearing in the mystery image.
Incorrect answers will be indicated by the text color staying red and colored pixels will not be rewarded.
This resource works well as independent practice, collaborative practice, homework, extra credit or even as an assignment to leave for the substitute!
