OBJECTIVE
Students will apply the Pythagorean Theorem to determine unknown side lengths in right triangles in real-world and mathematical problems in two and three dimensions.

ACTIVITY
Students will apply the Pythagorean Theorem to find the missing side lengths of right triangles and to solve word problems to create festive 3D holiday ornaments. There are 36 problems (12 given side lengths and a picture, 12 given side lengths without a picture, 12 application word problems) to provide students with multiple options and to allow for differentiated student assignments. Hang the ornaments around the room and show off your students’ work while decorating your classroom for the Winter season! Answer Keys provided!
